Gerard is a registered massage therapist and student of Osteopathy. He has completed a 2,200 hour remedial massage therapy program at MH Vicars, and is a current 3rd year student at the Canadian College of Osteopathy’s 4 year program. Gerard has worked closely with Olympic athletes and teams as well as weekend warriors. He was a national level cross country ski racer.
Style of Massage
Gerard’s treatments combine massage with an osteopathic approach. Each treatment is individualized and begins with a thorough assessment to determine each client’s goals. Gerard uses a variety of techniques including myofascial release, joint mobilization, deep tissue, cranial , breath work and joint mobilizations. Following manual therapy Gerard will guide each client though a simple and effective set of exercises to compliment the treatment and ensure lasting results.
What do you do when you aren’t massaging?
When not at work, in school or studying, Gerard can be found either climbing, ski touring or mountain biking. Gerard loves to cook and drink coffee.
What made you decide to become a massage therapist?
As a high level athlete Gerard had the privilege to work with some incredible Massage Therapists and Osteopaths who helped him through injuries. After retiring from competitive sport Gerard decided to become a therapist so he could help people through injuries and pain management.
