2022/2023 Athlete Ambassadors Selected
Applications Now Closed. Newest Ambassadors selected.
Thank you to all that applied, we had a hard decision to make choosing from 30 applicants. We had applicants from many different sports and even a few junior athletes that are working hard to make their way to the top of their sport. What an amazing group of athletes that we selected. This is a group of athletes that not only excel at their sport but are also strong members of the community with a lot of history in the Bow Valley.
Here are Back At It’s 2022/2023 Athlete Ambassadors:
Nichole Abma
I am originally from Vancouver area but have been living in Canmore for the past 4 years. My first experience with trail running was in 2016 when I ran Sinister 7 100 miler as a relay team with some awesome women. After that I fell in love with the sport and am currently training for the Whistler Alpine Meadows 100miler.
I am passionate about everything outdoors. Biking, skiing, hiking but mostly spending quality time with my dog and my partner.

One goal I would like to accomplish this year is run 100 miles.
Jordan Bryden
I am a professional triathlete from here in Canmore! I was first introduced to the sport of triathlon at the age of 9 and grew up in a very active family that regularly took trips to hike in the mountains, water ski in the summers, and rock climb. When my dad was looking to buy a treadmill, we wandered into the Calgary Cyclepath bike store. The store owner explained what a triathlon was, and helped get me set up for his first Kids of Steel race 2 months later. When I was 12 I was inspired by Canadian namesake- Simon Whitfield when he won the Olympic Games. Since then- I have won Numerous National titles, a Jr World Xterra Title, and has landed on the podium at Olympic Distance and Long Distance triathlon events around the globe!
I have been the race director of dozens or running /triathlon races! I am creating a new event this September! The Canmore Crux Gravel race ! – I bought and fully built out my Sprinter Van by myself in 10 days and its my favourite purchase ever! By Far! – I have a small clothing company called RNEST Endurance that makes just bike/ triathlon designs!
Emma Cook-Clarke
I grew up in Calgary, spending lots of time outside and doing various activities. I played team sports in high school, and picked up running in university, competing in cross country and track and field. I have always loved exploring the mountains, which is now where I spend the bulk of my time. Mountain running, backcountry skiing, biking, and climbing are the activities that inspire me most these days!
Beyond sport, I am passionate about connecting with nature and others. I like to slow down and appreciate wild places, and do what I can to be respectful.
Main goal for this year is to be consistent!
Emily Dickson
I was born and raised in Burns Lake, BC, where I followed my oldest sister, Allie, into the sport of biathlon when I was seven years old. I competed for the first at the age of eight- and I’ve been pursuing this sport ever since. When I was 15 I moved to Prince George, BC, to attend the Northern BC Canadian Sport School for grades 10-12, before I moved out to Canmore full-time in 2015. The last 7 years of my athletic career have been filled with a lot of up’s and down’s. The lowest point was when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder (Celiac Disease) in 2016, which continues to have a significant impact on my career to this day. On the flip side, one of the many highs from the past few years comes from last winter when I was able to fulfill a childhood dream of representing Canada at the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing! Currently, I am still motivated as ever to keep pursuing biathlon and I am very much committed to training full-time.
My biggest passion outside of sport is definitely photography! It has really become my creative outlet over the years and it brings me a lot of joy. Aside from that, I just really love spending time outdoors. Climbing, trail running, backcountry skiing, etc… I’m a big fan of all of it!
My first goal of the season is to compete at the World Cup season opener in Finland at the end of November!
