Prenatal Massage
This time in your life goes by quickly. Try and enjoy every moment!
Many of us at the clinic are also Moms. We know what it’s like to be pregnant and we know the aches and pains pregnancy causes on our bodies.
We use a side-lying cushion system that is specifically designed for maximum comfort for mom-to-be and for the safety of baby. We often get asked why we don’t have a table with the belly cut out so that pregnant clients can lie face down. The reason for this is that face down (prone) positioning is NOT the safest position. Although comfortable, the pregnant body is not designed to have the weight of the baby pulled directly forward by gravity causing excess stress on the uterine ligaments. We aren’t the only ones that believe that prone prenatal massage tables aren’t safe, another clinic has written more about this here . The side lying cushion system that we use supports and contours to the body and we find it is the best way to massage an expecting Mama.
Is it possible to get a massage during the whole time of pregnancy?
Yes, as long as mom-to-be and our therapists take the right precautions such as doing an extensive health history to gather information about the pregnancy. This gives us the information that we need about the progression of the pregnancy and to make sure there are no complications.
