Gemma
RMT Deep Tissue & Relaxation Massage, Cupping
The Bow Valley has been home for Gemma since completing her RMT program at Mount Royal University in 2022. Since then, she’s gained a wealth of experience working with a wide range of locals and tourist clientele seeking relief from activity related pain and stresses on the body. She looks forward to helping you build more understanding of your body throughout your treatment to help facilitate your overall well-being.
Style of Massage
She uses an intuitive approach to her treatments based on specified individual needs. Using a combination of therapeutic, relaxation, deeper tissue massage techniques and dynamic cupping to accomplish the goals you set forth together.
What do you do when you aren’t massaging?
She loves the mountains, but she’s a Great Lakes gal at heart, so any body of water is her happy place. She enjoys yoga, the occasional backcountry camping trip, hiking, bike rides & hammocking by the river. In the winter you can find her out on the hill or at the rink playing hockey.
What made you decide to become a massage therapist?
My first experience with massage therapy came at a time in my life when I didn’t even know it needed it. I had moved out west on my own and was working two jobs and babysitting on the side. One of the moms, who is now a dear friend and also an RMT, offered to massage me in exchange for looking after her kids. That was a game changer for my outlook on self care. And also helped me to see that I could also help others in the same way.
