Thea has been an RMT for almost 15 years and living and working in the Bow Valley for over 13 years. She loves the community and lifestyle here in the valley and is continually inspired by the hard working, hard playing folks who make this valley home!
Thea obtained her massage therapy diploma at ICT Northumberland College in Halifax, N.S. She graduated from a 2 year, 2200-hour program with a strong focus on assessment and treatment skills. She began her career at a multidisciplinary clinic working with physiotherapists and chiropractors, gaining insight and experience in therapeutic and rehab-focused massage therapy. She is passionate about supporting her patients in recovering from injuries, surgeries and maintaining overall wellness. Thea is also highly experienced in treating TMJ disorders.
She believes in the cumulative benefits of massage therapy and how complementary it is to active lifestyles.
Style of massage
Myofascial release, trigger point release and deep tissue massage.
What do you do when you aren’t massaging?
When I’m not working, I’m riding my bike on trails by the Bow river, looking for sweet spots to dip my feet in the water, in Winter I’m snowboarding. I also love cooking, yoga, circuit training and playing my guitar (kind of badly, but oh well)!
What made you decide to become a massage therapist?
Having recovered from several sports injuries, I know firsthand how effective massage therapy is for healing the body and enhancing sports and workout performance.
