Flippy Flops
Summer is winding down, and in some parts of Canada people wore their flip flops a lot, and in other parts not so much. How do your feet feel? They look great, the toes are free and well they are simply the best thing for summer. But that thin piece of plastic or rubber below your foot is not so good for the feet.
There are not a lot of flip flops out there that are good for your feet, so how do you wear flip flops and not trash your feet? Well I’m not exactly sure, but the one suggestion I have is try not to wear them all the time. When you know you’ll be walking long distances on pavement wear shoes or sandals with a thicker sole.
A study was done at Auburn University by a biomechanical doctoral student on the effects of flip flops on the feet. They presented these findings earlier this month at the annual meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine in Indianapolis.”
