Celebrating Pride Week in Canmore

It’s Pride Week in Canmore, from September 9th to 15th, 2024! Back At It, is excited to join the community in celebrating the vibrant diversity and unique identities within the LGBTQ2S+ community. This special week is not only a time for festivities and celebration, but it also serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of allyship and support for marginalized voices.

Pride Week in Canmore is packed with a variety of events reflecting the spirit of inclusion and acceptance. While we won’t list the specific events, this week is all about connecting, learning and celebrating together. Activities range from educational workshops and community gatherings to artistic showcases and discussions, allowing everyone to participate in a meaningful way. The goal is to foster an environment where everyone feels safe and celebrated regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

At Back At It, we’re particularly passionate about the role of allyship in creating supportive communities. Allyship is more than just standing in solidarity; it involves actively participating in the fight for equality and understanding the struggles faced by those in the LGBTQ2S+ community. Our insights from the “Insights from the Pronouns: 2SLGBTQIA Allyship Course” emphasize that being an ally means listening, learning and advocating for change.

This Pride Week, we encourage everyone to educate themselves on the challenges faced by LGBTQ2S+ individuals and reflect on how they can be better allies.
