Massage Music
Why is it that most places you get a massage the music is so awful. Birds chirping and waterfalls are not always relaxing. I know that most massage therapist hate it because I’m a massage therapist and there is no way I could listen to that all day long. Trying to stay awake and give a good massage while listening to that music is impossible. But it’s all about the client. Figure out what they like and play it and if you can’t figure it out ask them. Simple.
I’ve played all sorts of different music during the past 6 years of my massage career and I’ve received so many compliments about my music. The most common compliment is “thank goodness you don’t play any of that crappy massage music”. Seriously that’s what I hear a lot.
Just like trying to figure out pressure, figuring out what kind of music your client might like is a challenge. It’s a fun challenge because when you get it right you really get it right.
Here are some music ideas, close your eyes and pretend you are getting a massage.
Jazz
Rock
Folk
Alternative

Hi! While I was searching the web for information on massage and back pain, I found your blog and have been greatly pleased by the information you provide. And when I listened to the music examples, I really liked the State Radio music, so much so that it is on buy “to buy” list now. Kudos and thank you very much!
