C-Section Scar Massage
We have been working on many post C-sections surgeries and have found that massaging the scar has dramatically improved the healing process. It is so incredibly important but not often discussed.
We recommend waiting until approximately 3 months post surgery until the wound is fully healed or until your doctor gives you the go ahead. Scar treatment can be an integral part to recovery after a c-section.

The Emotional Aspect of a Cesarian
Often a cesarian is associated with an emotional story. How you ended up with a c-section is usually tied with an incredible amount of stress for the well being of your baby. Was it an emergency? Did you worry about the wellbeing of your baby? Everyone has their own story and often the focus is on the baby after birth. Have you dealt with you and your feelings with the “what just happened to me”??!!
Was your C-section over a year ago?
If your c-section was 9 months or over a year ago you can still get massage on the scar. It’s never to late to get massages on your scar. Often
What does C-Section Scar Massage Feel like?
At first it is very gentle. The goal at the beginning is for you to get use to the feeling of someone touching the scar. At first it can be a scary thought, so if you aren’t ready or a little apprehensive we can work near the scar on the abdomen. Our goal is to gain your confidence so that you feel comfortable with someone touching the scar.
Once you are ready and the therapists deems it time to start working on the scar the touch is light at first. Over time we will gradually work a bit deeper into layers of muscle and scar.
Do all of your therapist provide C-section scar massage?
No. Only the therapists that have gone through extra training offer C-Section Scar Massage. When booking online choose the specific treatment for C-Section Scar Massage, you will then only be able to book in with the therapists offering this treatment.
