Back At It’s Growth Program is Building on Back At It’s Vision of Therapeutic Excellence
At Back At It, our vision is simple: to be a trusted leader in therapeutic care , recognized for professional excellence and compassionate, client‑centered treatment. The Get After It! Growth Program is how we make that vision real. By investing in our practitioners’ skills, we improve the care we deliver to the Bow Valley community so people can recover, keep working and get back to the mountain life they love.
What the Get After It! Growth Program Is
Get After It! is a structured learning series for our practitioners that blends focused classroom learning with supervised, hands‑on practice. The pilot series launched recently and filled instantly, a clear sign our team is engaged and committed to continual growth. Based on that success we’ve opened a second round of sessions and will offer many more topics through the year.
Summer 2026 Focus: Scar Treatment
Our summer sessions focus on scar treatment. We’ve filled slots with volunteers who have surgical scars (C‑section, joint replacement) and scars from significant injuries (open fractures, major lacerations). Scar management is more than cosmetic: it can affect mobility, pain, and function. Teaching evidence‑informed approaches helps clinicians identify restrictive tissue, restore movement, and reduce pain so clients return to work and recreation faster.
Looking Ahead: Orthopedic Care in Fall 2026
This fall, the team will deepen skills in orthopedic care — assessment and hands‑on treatments tailored to the kinds of injuries we see most here. These topics are chosen because they reflect the real needs that walk through our doors every day.
Why This Matters in a Mountain Community
The Bow Valley is small in population but huge in activity. People move here to “get after it”; to ski, climb, bike, hike and work in a place where outdoor life is everything. That draw also means the cost of living is high and much of the town’s daily life depends on hardworking people: servers, baristas, housekeepers, guides, golf course crews, retail staff, teachers, nurses, and more. These are the people who keep our town running and our outdoor economy thriving. When they get injured, the impact is immediate; on income, mental health and their ability to stay active.
Back At It’s focus is practical and human: keep people working and keep them playing. Movement is therapy here, restoring function, confidence and mental well‑being. Our practitioners see how injury setbacks ripple through lives: lost shifts, social isolation and anxiety about returning to sport or work. By sharpening our clinical skills through Get After It!, we better treat the issues we encounter in our clinics and shorten recovery times.
What We’ve Learned and How We’ll Apply It
- Local context matters: training is tailored to the needs of an active mountain population, practical techniques that work in real life, not just textbooks.
- Hands‑on learning is essential: our practitioners gain confidence and competence faster when theory is paired with supervised practice on real cases.
- Prevention and return‑to‑activity planning are as important as injury treatment: helping clients safely get back to work and play reduces re‑injury and supports mental health.
- Community-centered care works: the program strengthens team cohesion and ensures consistent, high‑quality care across our clinic.
