Scar Tissue Treatment: Volunteers Needed

Did you know Back At It is working hard to fulfill our vision: “To be a trusted leader in therapeutic care, recognized for professional excellence and compassionate, client‑centered care”? To support that goal we’ve launched the Get After It! Growth Program, an in‑service series to strengthen Back At It practitioners’ skills. Our next session focuses on scar assessment and hands‑on scar treatment.

Why we’re doing this

We treat many types of scars; C‑section, post‑orthopedic, surgical and accident scars. Some scars are recent, some are old and some carry emotional stories. To better support our clients, we’ve expanded our clinician education from specialized C‑section treatments to include ALL scars. You’ll now see “Scar Treatment” listed among our services: a focused treatment intended for scars 3 months or older.

Volunteer opportunity: what to expect

  • Who we’re looking for: people with scars 3 months or older (C‑section, post‑orthopedics, car accident injuries, surgical scars, etc.).
  • What it looks like: you’ll lie on the table for 20–30 minutes while 2–4 supervised therapists observe and practice hands‑on techniques.
  • Safety & professionalism: all participating practitioners are registered therapists from Back At It with clinical experience; this program is for supervised learning and clinical skill development. You will be treated respectfully and asked for informed consent before any hands‑on work.
  • Comfort: this is a hands‑on demonstration — please come wearing clothing that allows access to the scar area and communicate any discomfort at any time.

How we’ll thank you

After your volunteer session, we’ll follow up with a complimentary scar massage treatment so you receive direct therapeutic benefit and ongoing support in your scar healing.
