Prenatal Massage Course
The team at Back At It massage just finished a course this weekend with Linda Hickey. Linda specializes in pre and post natal massage, and owns a clinic called Calgary Maternity Massage. She helped design one of the pregnancy cushions made by Oakworks and has been an instrumental figure in prenatal massage education in Alberta. Linda has been practicing massage for over 20 years and her practice is primarily geared towards pre and post natal women. Linda has been working with Carole Osborne, author of Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy, Deep Tissue Sculpting, Infant Massage and Movement Therapy and many articles. click here to read more about Carole.
Our course content included:
- anatomy and physiology of the pregnant woman
- proper body positioning using a prenatal massage cushion (which we now own!!!)
- symptoms of the pregnant woman’s body as the fetus develops
- myths about prenatal massage
- postural alignment to help ease pain in the pelvis and low back
- techniques for pre and post natal massage
- education for the client to correct poor standing and walking posture

Sorry this is just a clinic. We do not do courses. This is a course we took.
